Lemon Aid Cleanse Article Three (from Kristen's blog)

As you may have figured out, there are a few of us that have started our cleanse a bit earlier than planned. We just couldn't help it. My main reason was to be a day ahead so that I could help people if they got "stuck" and serve as the one that assures them tomorrow is another day.

However, I kept reading about all of this cleanliness and energy and weight loss and... well, the kits were here and I dove on in. Today was Day 1 for me. (A few others started a week ago) It was much easier than I expected perhaps because today was quite chill for me. Wednesdays are much like my weekend. This is why I stress that your start day must work for you, not the community of Albany!

I am hesitant to type this but tonight my scales show 4lbs less than they did this same time last night. It's hard to believe but if you had been in these shoes today you'd know what I know and it's possible. Another "Albanian cleanser" called this morning to report she had dropped 6lbs the first day.

I love it when these results come in so fast because it gives us all incentive to stick it out. Several of my friends and I were discussing tonight about how nothing other than a break from food will give you the harsh awareness of your food habits.

One lady said that they decorated for Halloween today and she realized they always celebrate that occasion (and all others) with food. She felt out of place not having something to eat during this time.

Just as I felt the need for an "after school snack" when I picked my son up today because that is what we always do. I'm usually not even the slightest bit hungry but I munch on whatever he eats. It was strange also to notice how much food I actually eat before I even sit down for a meal. I lick spoons and taste here and there all throughout meal prep. It's was automatic today and took a conscious effort to refrain.

I made this realization during my last fast and thought I had corrected it but I think it is in need of tweaking again. Eating while talking on the phone is also another pitfall of mine. Neat stuff to think about. Food for thought, you might say!

I did opt to buy my child take out food tonight rather than tempt myself by preparing yummy meals. My wonderful fiance' has offered to do the food prep for the remainder of the time, stocking the kitchen well. His fast will be a few weeks after mine and I will return the same favor then.

Plan for things like this. If you are the head chef in your home, make some arrangements for the first day or so. I feel great, I really do and can't wait until you can journal your own success story! Please make sure you share it with us!
