I think this is a perfect time to do a cleanse. My son has come home from school with "the crud" (sniffles and congestion) and I am starting to feel it creeping in on me. I haven't had a cold in a very long time so hopefully this will not set in either.
I am convinced that the amount of cayenne pepper that I am about to take it will ward off just about anything. According to Stanley Burroughs, If I'm sick, I've eaten it! So what better way to get well!
Let me just say that I have found great respect for author and naturopath, Mr. Burroughs... a man after my own heart! His book of 50 pages is packed with information and and is a delightful read.
Just to stay well informed, I am also reading another book, "The Complete Master Cleanse" by Tom Woloshyn. Tom actually knew Mr. Burroughs and goes on to explain a bit more in detail in his 200 page book.
Here's some tidbits of information that I have picked up from the two and also in talking to dozens of others that have successfully completed The Master Cleanse.
For those of you that are beginning on Saturday, October 4th (or around that time):
Now is the time to clean up your diet. Eat light vegetarian foods that are not processed, preferably raw. Get plenty of rest and stay well hydrated. This will help loosen the load of eliminating these wastes. Simply put: The simpler your diet is the less stressful it will be on your body. It will be interesting to see how our food choices affect us over the next week or so.
I have received many phone calls about caffeine addiction. Tom Woloshyn suggests IF you drink soda or coffee every day, you can help prevent headaches caused by caffeine withdrawal. Start taking pantothenic acid (Vitamin B-5) for about 4 days before starting the cleanse.
He suggests 400 mg taken 3 times daily as you taper off the caffeine intake by 25% each day. When you start the cleanse, you will no longer need the vitamin supplement and should be completely off the caffeine.
Make sure all of your supplies are gathered. You don't want to be running to the grocery store in the middle of the afternoon hungry. Being prepared is the best way to ensure success! We have already SOLD OUT of kits but have more coming Saturday. If you start preparing your body now, Sunday will be a great day to get started once they arrive.

Don't stress out over the start of the COMMUNITY CLEANSE. We will have this blog posted for months to come. YOU have to pick a start date that works for you. It this is a high stress time and your productivity levels must be high or if you have a big event that involves food, pick another time. We're not going anywhere!
