At this time, still nursing her gluten-intolerant young son, she was determined to have access to healthy foods make it not only possible but convenient for other Albanians concerned with a healthy life-style.
As a Licensed Massage Therapist and Kids Yoga Instructor, she began speaking with clients and gathering names of those interested in starting a grass-roots group for getting organic produce here in Albany. She was met with an overwhelming response then was invited by Beverly Burt to use Kai Yoga Arts as the location for sorting and pick-up.
The word got out, the group grew rapidly, and she started getting press recognition.
The yoga studio was being taken over by fruits veggies! Once again, Kristen was blessed by the Burt Family, offering their commercial property with such a high profile location at NO cost as their support to keep such a good thing going in a town so desperately in need. This move however opened the flood gates of REAL business and as expenses crept in, the only choice was to pull together a Natural Foods Store here in Albany.
With the help from many wonderful and generous people, Kristen refers to them as The Bee Green Angels , she has provided Albany with what she calls a glimpse into her own lifestyle.
Not only has she made it possible for Southwest Georgia to have access to an array of allergen-free foods, but has expanded that selection to local products such as farm fresh eggs, grass-fed ground beef, and much more.
The store is a gathering place and an information station. Kristen refers to it as a transition store. With her simple and fun approach to fantastic health and ecstatic living, Bee Green has definitely become THE place where you can be led joyfully step by step into the green world.
