Cool Summer Treats

As you may be discovering, this is the EASIEST time of year to INCREASE your raw food intake. Doesn’t it seem like your body is just screaming for icy cold frozen treats and juicy, fresh fruit? Our next two potlucks (both with very different themes, guests and learning opportunities) will have one thing in common: RAW CHILLY TREATS!

And I’m here to tell you that there aren’t many recipes that are this EASY and SIMPLE to make. We are blessed with resources through our RAW FOOD COMMUNITY and I am here to pull them together so you don’t have to be out hunting and seeking.  We’ve had many generous people pull together for our VITALITY MASTERS SERIES and one of the things I have asked of everyone is to pretty please share their secret (drumroll…..)


Our first batch of recipes were shared and created by Stacy Stowers. She won the hearts of our Succulent members that attending our March Potluck. Fun Photos HERE!

George Washington Ice Cream Bars

Stacy was inspired to make this recipe while crossing the George Washington
Bridge in New York. She was delightfully inspired with all the fresh cherries in the

Ice Cream Base:
1 1/2 cups coconut milk
1/2 cup raw soaked cashews
1 Tbs. coconut oil
1/2 tsp. vanilla powder
1 Tbs. raw honey
pinch of pink sea salt

1. Blend all ingredients in a high speed blender and pour into ice cream bar molds. Fill the molds leaving enough room to add in your fruit of choice. (sliced frozen cherries, berries, peaches, bananas)
3. Once your bars are frozen, remove from molds and drizzle on the Simple Chocolate Sauce.
Return to freezer.

Simple Chocolate Sauce:
3/4 cup “B” grade maple syrup
3/4 cup cacao
1/3 cup coconut oil
always a pinch of pink sea salt

Blend all ingredients in a blender.

You’ll be C-R-A-Z-Y about this chocolate sauce. In*joy spreading on whatever floats your hot summer boat. You could also let your bananas take a dip.

Slice bananas and dip in a simple chocolate sauce. Freeze on a clean white plate. They display so well there! Your guests will be impressed and you’ll delight in the fact that you’ve only spent 10 minutes in your kitchen.



Stacy is best known for her charming Southern accent and her most delicious creation, The Happy Shake.

The Happy Shake is great for summer, but I promise you will become hooked and

will be enjoying all year long. It is a super nutritious way to indulge yourself every morning — starting the day off just right.

1.The BASE: 3-4 cups fresh spinach…..GREEN is Glorious! Nothing too bitter here. Save the kale for a nice kale salad.
1/2 cup liquid (start with less liquid and add more as needed)…..water, juice,
nut milk. it’s your choice. I like water or coconut water.

2. A GOOD FAT is essential for keeping you satisfied and metabolizing the spinach:
1Tbs. coconut oil…good fat won’t make you fat!
or 1-2 Tbs. Hemp Seed….a complete protien!
or one raw ethically farm raised egg (my favorite)

3. The HAPPY Part: 1/2-1Tbs. Maca….for staminia, endurance, mental clarity and peak sexual
performance for both men and women
1Tbs. Raw Cacao (Raw Chocolate)…in it’s Raw state chocolate is actually a
valuable potent super food loaded with nutrients and neuro-peptides very similar
to the ones our bodies create when we are in LOVE!
1Tbs. a super GREEN RAW powder….GREEN is highly alkalizing. This is crucial!
Very important for weight management and longevity!

SLUDGE!!!!!……this is the “sludge”  and  a crucial step for a Happy

5. Now you can add your favorite FROZEN fruit……Banana, Blueberries, Raspberries, etc

6. Blend.

A NOTE on Super Foods…Super Foods like Maca and Cacao are very powerful foods. These foods border medicine. This is a good time to do your own research on these two amazing foods. Start in small doses and listen to your body.
